Moar Bars! Radio Bushwick in June
This is a fact: Bushwick could use more bars. We know this because, come each Friday and Saturday night, we rarely have enough elbow room to sling back our Jameson shots in comfort (when we frequent those places atmospheric enough to actually serve Jameson, we should say*).
So the rumor mill has it that two more bars will be opening on Troutman Street in the months to come!! AND, check this out, we just ran into Tari, who will soon open a new joint she is calling Radio Bushwick in June.
Radio Bushwick will be located between Northeast Kingdom and the Hana natural food grocery store, next to Hana behind the folding Corten steel facade. It will be a combination bar and live music venue, in a 2,500 square foot facility.
When live music is not playing, the bar will also feature DJs, and the music they play will be run through an Internet radio station. So when we are not at Radio Bushwick, we can tune in at home to hear what is being played. We hope the DJs festoon some Web 2.0 goodness onto their sets as well–So the next day, we can check the playlist, or relisten to a podcast of the set the next day. Memories!
Talk to Tari about becoming a DJ, though we understand competition is already quite fierce.
We’ll pass on more about Radio Bushwick as we hear…For now, though, we can’t wait! It’s going to be an awesome spring and summer for Bushwick.
*Bodega, we’re talking about you.
